Winning a SABEW ‘Best in Business’ award
Posted by Theo Keith | 0 commentsI’m very excited that a story I wrote for Bloomberg News last summer has won a national Society of American Business Editors and Writers “Best in Business” award.
SABEW is the world’s largest organization of business and financial journalists. I wrote the winning entry, “Autoworkers Adjust to Jobs Bank’s End as GM, Ford Seek to Rebound,” in August 2010 as an intern for Bloomberg. The story won the category for student work in a professional publication.
I fly to Dallas on April 7-9 to accept the award at SABEW’s annual conference.
I’m honored to win the award for reporting on a major issue in Detroit. It’s no secret that I hope to return to the Motor City during my career to report on the news and people that matter so much to me.
Hearing about the winning stories while attending last year’s SABEW conference in Phoenix was inspirational, and I tried to soak up as much knowledge as possible. This year, I’ll be among the award winners, but I’ll be there with the purpose of learning everything I can.
Please take a moment to read the list of “Best in Business” winners. Bloomberg won the most awards of any news agency. You can read more in the Missouri School of Journalism’s news release.
